Hot News

For everyone who keeps writing to ask when my next Rakes of London book will hit the shelves, first, a deeply felt thank you. The sad news is that George and her boys are disappearing into the mist. The good news is I have a fabulous new series (with a very similar feel and setting) coming out next year from Grand Central under a new pen name.

So keep your eyes peeled for Isobel Carr’s League of Second Sons series. The first book, Ripe for Pleasure, is due to hit shelves May 2011.

If you’re signed up for “Kalen’s” newsletter, you’ll get the word about “Isobel’s” books, and the fabulous contest I’ll be running when Ripe for Pleasure debuts. Plus there will be a new free short and lots of give aways to celebrate.

In the mean time, Sin and Scandal are sill availbe as eBook and my's free short story is still here. Click on the cover to download it!

BLOG

A bunch of fellow historical romance writers and I have banded together and started a new blog: History Hoydens. As writers of historical fiction we do a lot of research. Very little of this research actually ends up on the pages of our novels, though. Which seems a waste. Readers also frequently email us, questioning the accuracy of something, inquiring about a source, or just wanting to know more. This is the place for us to offer that “more”. We have a great bunch of Hoydens here who write romances in a wide variety of settings (they’ll introduce themselves with their first posts). Please join us as we explore the eras we love and discuss the research that obsesses us.

  FIRST INTERVIEW. FIRST PODCAST.

The interview I did with the wonderful Jana Oliver of the Fancy Dress Albert Public House is now available in her archives (it's show #4). Jana’s obsession is all things Victorian, while mine is all things Georgian, but we found plenty to blab about, ranging from Medieval underpants (or the lack there of) to things like the price of a gown by Worth and what working women would have worn during the Victorian era.

Please link over and download the interview. I guarantee you won't be bored.
